New DVD releases round up 27th / 28th October
Sifting through this weeks crop of contemporary DVD releases, we've come up with some recommendations for you.
UK releases
In the UK, our pick of the DVD releases on 27th October 2008 :

Never Apologize. Malcolm McDowell's warm tribute to alt-flix faveLindsay Anderson. The film is a recording of Malcolm McDowell's one man theatre show about legendary British film director Lindsay Anderson. The show is cut with clips of Lindsay Anderson's films If... and O'Lucky Man! (both starring McDowell), and excerpts from Anderson's 'recently posthumously published memoirs.
We heartily recommend the film for fellow fans of Anderson and McDowell, film buffs and anyone who wants to have a damn good laugh at McDowell's hugely funny stories.
One Who Set Forth - Wim Wenders' Early Years. This superb and revealing documentary profiles the work and early career of renowned German director Wim Wenders, one of the few truly unique talents working in cinema today. The documentary is as fascinating as Wender's own films.

10 Years of Rialto Pictures. 10 discs celebrating 10 years of Rialto's fine work in restoring and releasing some lost classics. Includes Billy Liar, Army Of Shadows, The Third Man, Rififi and many other masterpieces.
Baraka. A beautiful almost balletic social travelogue, which casts its lens far and wide all across the world. Beautifully shot, a film that everyone deserves to see.
I Love Beijing. Ning Ying's 2001 end game of his Beijing trilogy. In I Love Beijing the city and its lead character become almost interchangeable in this skilful and highly enjoyable piece.
