Leon The Pig Farmer Synopsis - Leon The Pig Farmer centres around Leon, is a young Jewish man who works as an estate agent in London. Leon's world starts to fall apart when he discovers that due to an error with the artificial insemination process when he was conceived, his actual biological father is a a Yorkshire pig farmer. With everything he thought he knew starting to crumble around him, he travels up to Yorkshire to meet his other family. His other family welcome him into the fold but where will his divided loyalties between his old and new families end up leading him. |
| Review of Leon The Pig Farmer - Leon The Pig Farmer is somewhat low key and is usually unfortunately (and unfairly) written off as a film purely a Jewish film. Whilst it is true that much of the humour comes between the meeting of two seemingly opposing cultures, the film is much more than that, and the humour is, I believe, universal and its approach could be seen to be ahead of its time. There are too many small deficiencies in the film for it to be considered a classic, but its very entertaining and has a very good and well chosen cast that makes me feel that this film has been unfairly written off / ignored in recent years. |
| The reasons I recommend Leon The Pig Farmer are: 1. A very entertaining and amusing film. 2. A great ensemble cast. |
