Performance Synopsis - Performance's story surrounds Chas, a London gangster, who after carrying out a hit erroneously looks to go into hiding. He manages to lie low by renting a room in a house run by Turner, a former rock star, who is now lives a decadent life style of sex and drugs. As the two characters become fascinated with each other, their lives and lifestyles start to become interchangeable - helped in no small part when Chas is spiked with magic mushrooms.

Review of Performance - The plot of Performance is undeniably thin and for a very good reason this film is called Performance. The film is dragged along, not by the plot, but by the developing relationship of the two main players, which is really what makes this film so interesting (also given the extra buzz of it being not too difficult to imagine that the actors are fully immersed in there characters off set and on). It has to be said that both Jagger and Fox pull of their characters very well indeed and their developing relationship is utterly believable. So this decadent psychedelic gangster movie is a very different type of film and it has gained iconic and cult status for its unique approach and style.
The reasons I recommend Performance are: 1. A superbly innovative movie. 2. Excellent performances by Jagger and Fox.
