Scary
movies # 6 - Don't Look Now
Year: 1973 Director: Nicolas
Roeg

A husband and wife grieving
the death of their daughter in a drowning accident, relocate
to Venice. A blind psychic informs
them that her dead daughter is now "happy".
The husband then begins to catch fleeting glimpses of
his daughter, dressed in a red rain coat, in the streets of
Venice.
Don't
Look Now is top of the tree for sheer psychological terror. Adapted
from the
Daphne Du Maurier it makes for uncomfortably
edgy viewing.
The film is visually stunning -making the most of the labyrinthine
back streets of Venice. The cast is faultless with Donald
Sutherland and Julie Christie giving perhaps their finest
performances of their long careers.
