Scary
movies # 13 - 28 Days Later
Year: 2002 Director: Danny
Boyle

A
Zombie movie that is not an actual Zombie movie - how does that
work?
A young
cycle courier is knocked off his bike and wakes 28 days
later to find the streets of London deserted.
But he is not all alone and he discovers people infected
with a virus which keeps them in a constant state of murderous
rage. He and a precious few survivors, must make a break
from the city and avoid the infected.
For all intents and purposes
28 Days Later is a Zombie movie.
The difference being that, unlike Zombies, the virus sufferers
are not actually undead, in fact they are not even dead yet.
The digital video look of the film is most striking which immediately
heightens the realistic feel of the movie, allowing stunning
shots of a desolate and deserted London. The
plot is rather good too with some nice twists, and innovation
turning this into a tremendously well crafted movie. The recent
sequel 28 Weeks Later is also superb.
