July 2008 (iii) - Dragging ourselves (up) into the golden age of technology, alt-flix has now gone and got itself a blog - named appropriately the alt-flix blog. It will be used as a way to post new content such as up to date film news, updates to the main alt-flix site and any other nonsense we fancy. You can subscribe to the blog so you will never have to miss a word.

July 2008 (ii) - We have just put up the latest in our series of Director guides. The subject this time is the modern cinematic genius that was Stanley Kubrick. The comprehensive 2 part guide will compliment the Stanley Kubrick season that is starting on Channel 4 television in the UK from the 15 July 2008. The season will be showing some of Kubrick's earliest shorts, plus an exclusive new documentary, together with all his usual masterpieces. July 2008 (i) - A bumper crop of super DVD releases in the UK for July and August, but the opposite for the US who hit a summer lull - check DVD Release schedule to see what I mean. In strange news, Ken Loach is working on a film with Man Utd football legend Eric Cantona. It is slated for release in 2009 but we can't wait already. See our Ken Loach guide for more info.
