This darkly romantic comedy by the great Hal Ashby is as close
to comedy heaven as you can get.
The
plot itself involves a depressed suicide obsessive 20 year old
man, (Harold) who meets and falls for an eccentric, life loving
79 years young lady (Maude - beautifully portrayed by Ruth Gordon
form the "Any which way" movies). The film itself is
one of the funniest films you could wish to see, but their is
a deeper universal story going on hear that certainly makes you
consider the story of these two opposites attracting.
