I know we are again at the Hugh Grant / Glamorous American Love
Interest / Richard Curtis / Upper Class London interface etc etc
but this one kind of started it off.
In
its own toe curling way its kind of funny in places and the funeral
scene is done very well indeed and is very touching. On the down
side it spawned one of the most awful covers of one of the most
awful songs in recording history.
The
biggest mystery about this film is why Hugh Grants character would
choose the lovely Andie MacDowell when he could have chosen the
devastatingly beautiful Kristin Scott Thomas (at the very least
he should maybe have chosen both).
