1. Blade Runner: The Final Cut. 5 disc set Released 18th December 2007 A stunning 5 disc set rounding up all versions of the film plus a host of superb extras for this modern masterpiece - definitely one of our favorite DVD releases of the year.

2. Ingmar Bergman Four Masterworks Released 4th December 2007 Superb four film set of the late lamented true genius of modern cinema Ingmar Bergman. Includes Smiles of a Summer Night, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries and The Virgin Spring.

3. The Simpsons Movie Released 18th December 2007 The TV series has definitely gone down hill, but the movie was a very welcome surprise, and works tremendously well in the extended format. It's so good its like living in the land of chocolate.

Cocalero Released 11th December 2007 A remarkable true story of Aymara Indian Evo Morales who, backed by coca leaf farmers, travels through the Andes and Amazon in jeans and sneakers, leading a historic bid to become Bolivia's first Indigenous president.

December Boys Released 11th December 2007 Daniel Radcliffe (Master Harry Potter himself) stars in this rather good, if overblown, tale of four orphan boys. This could have been even better in the hands of a true indie auteur, but there is still a lot to admire this film for under its heavy gloss.

Two-Lane Blacktop Released 11th December 2007 The cars are most definitely not the stars here. Fantastically minimal dialogue and the majestic vistas of road a truly beautiful film.

Once Released 18th December 2007 An innovative love story set in Dublin. An obvious low budget helps concentrate the characters and dialogue into a rather good little film.

Deep Water Released 18th December 2007 Truth is infinitely better and stranger than fiction. The story of Donald Crowhurst a full time dreamer, and single handed yachtsmen who in 1968 set sail to take part in a single handed non-stop round the world yacht race.
