Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Synopsis - Raul, a journalist - of sorts, is sent to cover a sporting event for a magazine. With his advance he buys lots of drugs and sets off on a three day road trip with his lawyer and sidekick. The pair are so out of their minds their search for the American dream disintegrates into one trip after another, till its not clear what is imagined and what is real after all. |
| Review of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - This book, which was always touted as being impossible to film, could have only been brought to life by Terry Gilliam. His off the wall style is perfect for realising the madness that Hunter Thompson painted. Gilliam pulls of the impossible and makes this a great film. Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro also manage, somehow perfectly, portray the maelstrom of madness that their characters experience. All in all a hugely impressive film. |
| The reasons I recommend Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas are: 1. Terry Gilliam's genius realisation of this monster project. 2. The performances of Depp and Del Toro are amazing. |
