Show Me Love Synopsis - Show Me Love is set in Åmål in Sweden, and centres around the stories of Elin and Agnes who are approaching their last years at school. Both girls hate living in Amal, as it is a small town in every sense of the word, and they begin to sense the restrictions of their futures in such a town. Elin is popular at school and suffers the peer pressures of putting on a front to trying to remain in that position. Agnes, is hopelessly shy and therefore is not one of the popular girls, she is also secretly in love with Elin. When Elin attends Agnes' birthday party she is the only guest, but with the freedom to talk to each other they find that they have much in common, and share affection with one another. Elin is confused by her feelings toward Agnes. But can she overcome the peer pressure to conform sufficiently to be able to let herself to explore her true feelings for Agnes.

Review of Show Me Love - This is a tremendous story (if slightly formulaic). The fact that Show Me Love is both written and acted with such sympathy and integrity lifts the film into another level above the treatment that Hollywood would have inflicted on the story had it been made for a US studio. The performances of the two young leads is very good indeed, and Moodysson is really the master of this genre of story.
The reasons I recommend Show Me Love are: 1. Great performances by the two young lead actresses. 2. The story is a rather good take on a familiar theme.
